Wow, Colin, that is very impressive!

It was easier than it sounds.  The Putnam is less about knowing mathematics
than it is about thinking creatively and quickly, and getting lucky.  That
year the questions just happened to be in the areas I was most comfortable.

And in case anybody hasn't realised it, Canadians are remarkably modest people.
