Regrettably, I'm also having to look at alternative solutions for my company
backups because of this. Very slow restore, very slow archive deletion, and
the difficulty of constructing any sensible solution to expire old archives
from a different, privileged control machine (without --fscking every time)
make it hard to use tarsnap beyond the simple case of an independent machine
whose backups are administered manually.
