Re: Tarsnap via Puppet



Greg,

Thanks for the info.  What distro(s) are you deploying tarsnap on and did you roll your own package to make the deploy easier?

I was using a centralized bacula VM w/encryption on ZFS until the array failed on the KVM host and killed EVRYTHING.  So I started looking for a cloud based solution that provided encryption so I could prevent this from happening again which is how I stumbled on tarsnap.

Just started using puppet so I figured I could use it to manage tarsnap so even if a client dies I can easily redeploy plus have the advantage of making changes much quicker.  

Any other advice is appreciated!

Yes, and I'm also deploying feather (https://github.com/danrue/feather)
on top of it.
