Re: How is the cache directory supposed to be setup?



Ok, so is the normal usage to choose one user account per system to be able to use tarsnap with a given tarsnap account? I'm thinking I don't want to use "root" for this (doesn't seem safe).

You need one cache directory per tarsnap key file.  Usually this means one cache
directory per system, since most people only have one tarsnap key file which is
used for all the backups from a particular box.
