Here's a script I used to use for nightly tarsnap backups -- I've since
switched to using ZFS. It uses the lockf(1) lock file to do double
duty -- both to ensure that only a single instance of the backup process
is running at any one time, and as the time reference for tarsnap's
--snaptime option.
