Iirc, you'd give her access to the key, then run a tarsnap --fsck and
then use tarsnap to restore as normally.

You could also generate a read only key for her and give that key to a
lawyer, possibly print the key on paper as many storage mediums have a
limited lifetime. Then tell the lawyer to give your wife access to the
key -- and instructions on how to use it -- in the event of the
unspeakable.
