If you need to get a lot of data out of tarsnap fast, and have a fair
amount of latency to the tarsnap server, I've found it a viable
solution to boot an EC2 instance, and use it to restore your data from
tarsnap, then copy it from there to where ever you need it.
You would of course have to trust Amazon with your unencrypted data
and your encryption keys.
