My general philosophy has been "I'll deal with that situation when it arises". ;-)

So far the people who have submitted patches have started from the published
tarballs.

Oh, now I understand.  I thought it was complaining about 'va_list'.  Right,
the problem is the typedef redefinition, which is an "OS X headers are screwed
up" bug.
