Couldn't visit directory

For the past couple days I've been getting a bunch of the following errors during a backup I run nightly:

a home/cva/src/ring.git/objects/4c/57951cbad2e731e3896ad8b08112d77432eace
a home/cva/src/ring.git/objects/4c/28ffa0351c0fdf5a0f8bab59475153970441c5
tarsnap: /home/cva/src/ring.git/objects/15: Couldn't visit directory: No such file or directory
tarsnap: /home/cva/src/ring.git/objects/62: Couldn't visit directory: No such file or directory
tarsnap: /home/cva/src/ring.git/objects/ba: Couldn't visit directory: No such file or directory
... 97 more
tarsnap: Error exit delayed from previous errors.

It's always the same directories and they happen to be toward the end of the archive.

As far as I can tell, there's nothing unusual about any of those directories:

1088000236 973 drwxr-xr-x 2 cva cva 0 6 "Jan 22 14:57:08 2011" "Jan 22 14:57:08 2011" "Jan 22 14:57:08 2011" "Jan 22 14:57:08 2011" 131072 4 0 /home/cva/src/ring.git/objects/15

And they've backed up in the past.

This is tarsnap 1.0.28 on Freebsd 8.2-RC2 on a ZFS filesystem.
